Single Hollow Earring
(Air)rings are the result of an alchemical transformation from plastic to precious metal. This material shift triggers a perceptual change from our original understanding of the source material. What were formerly headphones, are now rendered futile and broken by aesthetic choices. The right way to wear (Air)rings are wrong; they’re rotated 180 degrees and worn upside down. (Air)rings embody ecological thinking, by rejecting corporate values, and functionally breaking the object of mass production.
